You're totally right, I usually try to use it as a link dump as opposed to posting original content. That stuffs cheap enough to wall in so I don't mind.

You can get two of those benefits (status, avoid LHR) on SQ. They have normal power+USB in economy on their A380s and A330s, so you should get it for at least the SYD<->SIN segments.

For the next segment it's trickier, but just a matter of picking the right flights. SQ2008 (codeshare, operated by LH on an A380) which will give you power all the way to FRA (according to SeatGuru, anyway); or SQ368 (on a 773-ER) will give you power all the way to MUC.

Damn you. Was just considering EY economy for a trip to Europe. :( (Status credits, avoid LHR, normal power point + usb in economy)

FWIW, Vodafone have a feature called "Ring Alert", which will call you when a voicemail message was left and play it back for you. This feature is free - but not entirely reliable, as if you're out of range for too long it will give up and not call you any more.

Calling 121 does charge you standard call rates though.

I've just updated the post to block that part out, because with the release of snow leopard it's no longer true.

The only thing I can think of (assuming all the obvious things like "Contacts" is actually set to "On" in the list of things to sync for the exchange account) is that I believe the syncing will only sync the "My Contacts" group from the Google Contacts app (https://www.google.com/contacts/a/example.com if you're using Apps, https://www.google.com/contacts/ if you're using gmail).

[update]About the con tact sync thing. See, you only get the option to sync your Address Book and your Google Con tacts vis ible in iTunes if you’re syncing con tacts with your iPhone. If you’re syncing con tacts with the cloud, you’re not syncing with your iPhone, so you don’t get the option. If you do use Google Con tacts, that means that the cloud and your iPhone are both up-to-date — but your desktop is not.

If you really want instant syncing between your phone and your desktop, turn on cloud-syncing of your con tacts. If you’d prefer to keep your phone, desktop, and the cloud all in sync, turn off cloud-syncing, and let iTunes handle the sync instead. [/update]

Somehow this doesn't make sense. I want to use Google Apps Gmail & Calendar and sync them to my iPhone, and this works well for the initial sync. After that, changes made to the Google Calendar appear instantly on my iPhone, but changes made to my Google Contacts NEVER appear on my phone. Any ideas? I'd also like to push my Google Contacts to my Mad Address Book but haven't figured that out yet. Turning on Google Sync in the Address Book preferences I thought would do it...but that does absolutely nothing as far as I can see. Thanks for any help.
